SUICIDE SILENCE To Headline 'Summer Slaughter UK' Tour
June 17, 2008California-based extreme metal quintet SUICIDE SILENCE will headline Summer Slaughter UK tour in August/September with support from AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, BORN OF OSIRIS, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY and THE BERZERKER.
Commented Summer Slaughter tour creator Ash Avildsen (from booking agent TKO): "We started the Summer Slaughter Tour in 2007 with NECROPHAGIST and DECAPITATED to give true fans of extreme music the best club festival lineup possible for the cheapest price possible. For North America we try to bring as much anticipated talent from overseas as we can while still including the best domestic bands available. This will be the first year for Summer Slaughter UK and we are trying to have the same overseas excitement we do here in the states, this time bringing American bands to the UK. While the inaugural line-up for the UK is more focused on younger extreme bands than the U.S. or Canadian lineups, we still feel it is showcasing a lot of different styles in the extreme metal world and are excited to launch Summer Slaughter UK in and anticipate it will become a yearly force to be reckoned with. We have four U.S. bands (two making their overseas debut),one UK band and one Australian band, we proudly present to you Summer Slaughter UK 2008!"
SUICIDE SILENCE vocalist Mitch Lucker comments on the band's UK return: "We cannot wait to return to the UK and headline the Summer Slaughter tour overseas. The PARKWAY DRIVE tour was amazing and the fans were some of the best and craziest weve ever encountered. The Summer Slaughter lineup is a great one, so don't miss out! We'll be hanging out before and after the shows as always, so be sure and say hello. See you in late August, early September!"
